Rutter, John: Folk Songs for Choirs Book I

The dozen a cappella, predominantly British Isles tunes, some favorites and some lesser-known. Vaughn Williams' arrangement of "Greensleeves" and Holst's "My Sweetheart's Like Venus" are simply lovely. Rutter himself serves up "O waly waly" and the Tennessee tune "Sourwood Mountain." Very readable scores help make this a very welcome addition. (SATB, 86 pp. 1985)
