This has got to be THE best traditional gospel album we carry - bar none. With 13 new arrangements by Chanticleer director Joseph Jennings and featuring guest solo work by Bishop Yvette A. Flunder, if this one doesn't get you up out of your seat and on your feet, then nothing will!

You'll listen to this album and then go immediately to the liner notes to see who that great gospel choir is that's backing up Chanticleer and Bishop Flunder. But you won't find one in the liner notes. You won't find mention of another group anywhere. Know why? Because it's ALL THEM! No backup, no overdubs, recorded LIVE at St. Ignatius Church in San Francisco. The sound these men achieve is incredibly full and rich, accentuated by Bishop Flunders' strong, soulful alto solos. Jennings takes a turn at solos on "You Can't Hide," "Sit Down Servant" and "Plenty Good Room," among others. The liner notes, written by gospel music researcher and author Anthony Heilbut, give a great overview of the style as well as Jennings' skill and experience in arranging for it.
