Chanticleer has selected highlights from its appearances on Minnesota Public Radio shows, "A Prairie Home Companion," "Good Evening," and "St. Paul Sunday Morning" in compiling this recording. It's always hard to find enough superlatives to convey the extremely high quality of any Chanticleer performance as epitomized by its classical selections. But, with Prairie Home Companion as one of its venues, it's not surprising that seven of the 20 cuts are non-classical. Sometimes singers who are primarily performers of classical music can come across a little, well, stiff, in performances of other genres, but the jazz and gospel numbers here are wonderful! "Going to Heaven" with arranger Joseph Jennings as soloist, will send you to heaven. And "Let's Do It", also arranged by Jennings, says it all, Do It: get your hands on this album! (60:21 1992)
