Morten Laurisen is one of the most accomplished composers of choral music working today. His music is as satisfying for singers to perform as it is for audiences to listen to. It is, however, not to be taken lightly. This is serious, carefully crafted material. The CD is divided into three parts; Lux Aeterna, Madrigali, and finally three Latin motets. The third of the motets is the well known and beautiful "O magnum mysterium". Polyphony is a highly competent choir of approximately 25 talented men and women. Their performance is a joy. Highlights of this CD include "O nata lux", and the aforementioned "O magnum mysterium". There is some accompaniment in the Lux Aeternum section. (66:43 2005)
