This wordless piece was originally recorded by saxophonists Bob Berg and David Sanborn as a duet on Berg's album entitled Short Stories. The arrangement is designed to be used as an a cappella opener with optional keyboard pads. Requires part independence skills from ensemble members as they imitate several different keyboard sounds and rhythms. Can be expanded for improvisation if desired. 9 parts including: 1 vocal bass, 1 vocal percussion, 5 "kalimba," and 2 lead (sax) vocal. (This information is taken from publisher's website.) Notes inside the sheet music suggest listening to the instrumental recording mentioned above. They also suggest that a minimum of 12 singers is ideal (but not necessary), with directions as to what voices to use in producing the vocal percussion, as well as how to work without vocal percussion.
