"Gentle" is the word that comes to mind on first listening to this CD. "Lovely" is another. With arrangements by some of choral music's greats like Alice Parker ("Susanni"), The Real Group's Margareta Jalkeus ("Prepare the Way"), Norman Luboff ("Joseph Dearest, Joseph Mine"), Stephen Paulus ("Three Nativity Carols") and of course, Dale Warland ("O Little Town of Bethlehem," "Huron Carol"), paired with the exquisite musicality of this talented ensemble, and you have a beautiful album that both raises goosebumps on your arms and warms the cockles of your heart. Wonderful liner notes give a history and perspective to many of the songs. 11 of 21 songs are lightly accompanied by either harp, guitar, oboe or hand percussion. (61:02 2002)
