This Utah sextet's fifth (!) album is dedicated to the young ones. The opening track "'Give' Said the Little Stream" is reminiscent of a Nickelodeon kids' show theme and sets the mood for the rest of the album - playful, spiritual, and FUN! With great production by the group, solid bass work by Ryan Hinton, groovy vocal percussion by Jason Smith and wonderful arrangements, this one is sure to be a hit with both young and old. They manage to entertain the grown-ups with the cool VP and solid harmonies and unexpected arrangements of familiar tunes, yet keep the repertoire attractive to kids with revamps of classics like "Eensie Weensie Spider" (check out the John Cleese-esque intro). They impart their spiritual message with guiding tunes like kid-friendly "Never Tell a Lie," (complete with corny-but-cool sound effects) more traditional "I Feel My Savior's Love," "I Hope They Call Me on a Mission" and LDS-specific "Books in the Book of Mormon." In "I'm Trying to Be Like Jesus" they cleverly inject Bach's famous "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" into the mix lyrically and with a beautiful descant. "Short Trip Home" is a beautiful, melodic, Celtic-sounding wordless piece by Edgar Meyer. Lush Kimball Brown original "Lullaby" will give you goosebumps. Perhaps the biggest laugh-getter on the album is the closing track "Once There Were Some Snowmen." Featuring snippets of thirteen different well-known songs all with the words changed to reflect the demise of a snowman. You'll recognize 'I Feel Cold,' 'Hombre de Nieve,' 'Who Let the Sun out,' 'To the Snowmobile, Robin' 'Daylight Come' and more. It's not possible to listen to this album without smiling and wanting to sing a song with the closest little one in your life, and I think the guys would condider that a 'mission accomplished.' "This is a great CD of LDS Primary Songs and a lot of fun. I have 3 boys right now and they love it. These are very jazzed up versions of the Primany songs so it may not be the best "Sunday" CD but it is nice to have something that is still wholesome and child friendly. "
