The Saint Olaf Choir has a long and rich history. The choir was initially founded in 1911 by Dr. F. Melius Christiansen, a Norwegian immigrant who fostered the a cappella tradition that became the standard for collegiate and church choirs across America. They are well known for quality musicianship and good recordings, and this one is no exception. It contains a wide range of music (from Byrd to modern composers) that is beautifully sung under the baton of Dr. Anton Armstrong. (75:29 1994)
