In 1986, to celebrate the choir's 75th anniversary, its then director, Kenneth Jennings, took the choir on an Asian tour, visiting Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and the People's Republic of China. The tour, one of twelve international tours that Jennings arranged for the choir, was a huge success, proving again that music knows no geographic boundaries and brings together those of all cultures. So well-received was the choir, it was invited to participate in the 1988 Olympic Festival of Arts in Seoul Korea. Five of the 16 pieces on the CD are of Asian origin. (47:42 1989)
