This reviewer has found her new favorite male singing ensemble! With a warm,clean sound that melts the heart, these 13 choral educators from the PacificNorthwest explore the American folk song in its many forms - hymns ("Be ThouMy Vision," "O Thou in WhosePresence"), spirituals ("The Gift to be Simple," Ezekiel Saw the Wheel"),songs of the Civil War ("Waitin' for the Dawn of Peace"), songs of the West("Streets of Laredo," a beautiful eight-part "Shenandoah"), songs of the sea("Blow the Candles Out", "A-Roving") and lastly, a bit of modern pop culturein their original "Television Medley," featuring TV themes from the '50s and'60s. Some sweet light accompaniment by oboe, guitar and piano, but most ofthe tracks are a cappella. (62:53 1992)
