Alfred S. Burt is remarkable as the only composer of modern times to have written Christmas carols which have entered the American tradition, widely and frequently performed by community groups, as well as celebrity singers and musicians. Sadly, lung cancer took his life at the age of 33, and one wonders how many of his carols we will never hear. "The Christmas Mood" is an original 1954 recording of The Columbia Choir and The Ralph Carmichael Brass Ensemble in Hollywood, California. (39:42 2000)
