"This is Christmas" is billed as 'A Choral Pageant', with lyrics by Wihla Hutson and Bates G. Burt, music by Alfred Burt. Narration and staging, which is included in the collection, is by Ray Sax, Wihla Hutson and Joyce Merman. From the inside cover:
"THIS IS CHRISTMAS was developed from ten of the Alfred Burt Carols. One of these unusual carols was composed each year by the young Mr. Burt, using texts by his father, the Reverend Bates G. Burt, or friend-of-the-family, Wihla Hutson. These original carols were then sent to friends as Christmas greetings. This custome was maintained by the Burt family until the year of the untimely death of the gifted young composer."

Some of the carols are accompanied (as noted below), some have piano introductions for effect, most are scored for mixed choirs (SATB, except where noted below). All in all, this is a lovely collection of Christmas music for your church or small group's holiday performances. Performance time: approx. 23:00.
