The 1978 International Champion Bluegrass Student Union quartet sang its swan song in December of 2006. The quartet has released "Commencement," a last recording product that serves as a retrospective of its long career. The box set consists of a 2-1/2 hour digital video disc with 49 video performances shot over a 28-year period, along with a companion audio compact disc of 8 previously unreleased tracks. The DVD includes off-camera narration by Kenny, Allen, Rick and Dan (which is heard during part of the song for about half of the songs), and footage of their hero quartets as well. It's not only entertaining, but educational and archival; a welcome addition to your collection from one of our Society's fine champions.

"I have played the DVD and CD of Commencement...the Bluegrass Student Union for a number of friends, and they are great! Top entertainment and singing. Spread the word. It's well worth the money."

"I was very disappointed. The singing was great, but there were talking reviews DURING the singing which ruined it. So you miss out on a lot of the singing!"
