This piece gives your chorus a chance to play with sound: tone clusters build, and the choral wind machine cranks up, to herald the storm. Then the choral "pitter-patter," using hocket and overlapping rhythms, portrays the rain falling on parched Australian towns.

Great music for female chorus

"I heard this song conducted by Marvilla Davis for a volunteer choir and it was amazingly beautiful. A lovely precision suggested the coming of the rain from the first drops. The vocal wind sound was performed by a male chorus to great effect. This was at the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival, 2007 (Alaska). I'd love to hear this again, or sing it in our own choir here at home."
