This first-ever DVD by barbershop's megachampion chorus brings the warmth of the Vocal Majority's harmony alive in your living room. The first half of the performance is a skit, with the chorus lost "Somewhere in West Texas." They perform, as always, in a variety of styles: barbershop ballad "Toyland," jazzy "Christmas Time Is Here," and with instrumental tracks on half the songs. Acoustix cameos with an extended version of "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch." The second half of the 17-song performance has the men in tuxes. Their "What Child Is This" mixes traditional with jazz harmonies a cappella, while an organ joins them on "O Holy Night" and the "Hallelujah Chorus." Their precision and musicality goes from impeccable to breathtaking. (2003)
