This award-winning 35-voice professional choral ensemble from Pennsylvaniapresents another wonderful tribute to modern American choral music. Featuringcompositions by Stephen Paulus ("Pilgrim's Hymn"), Mack Wilberg (Shaker-sounding"Saints Bound for Heaven," beautiful and gentle "My Shepherd Will Supply MyNeed") as well as the thoroughly modern harmonics ofthe 5-song cycle "Prayers of Coventry Cathedral" and title track by former group memberC. Thomas Schwalm. Alice Parker and Robert Shaw's "His Voice as the Sound" isa nice reversion to more traditional minor-key harmonies; Geordie Roberts'"Leaning on the Everlasting Arms" is a finger-snapping gospel number. StephenHatfield's re-working of "Amazing Grace" is lovely but definitely different thanthe original, accompanied by flute. 18 tracks, seven a cappella, others lightlyaccompanied by flute, organ and/or cello.
