Voci Nobili: Go Ring Them Bells (CD)

Voci Nobili, The Bergen College Youth Choir, is a treble ensemble from Norway. Pure tones, precise musicianship and youthful exuberance are the hallmarks of this CD. The title track, "Oh, Peter Go Ring Them Bells" won them 1st place in the 1991 Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation choral completion. It's easy to see why. The three tracks in English are charming in their innocence. The women really shine though in the compositions of Swedish composers Carl-Bertil Agnestig and Norwegian Knut Nystedt, Egil Hovland, and Torstein Aagaard-Nilsen. (1992 49:30)
