Rainy Day, A-POD Greg Bartholomew (SSAA)
Be the first to review this product
A delicate setting for unaccompanied SSAA women's chorus of the poem by American poet John Brainard (1796 - 1828). The opening of the piece imitates the pitter-patter of rain drops, before venturing through a tuneful depiction of a woman "who loves the rain," as she reads aloud to a young brother and administers "that best of medicine, kindness, and tender care," concluding that performing good deeds prevents her from being sad, "on a rainy day. "Arkansas State University Women's Chorus presented the premiere performance at Riceland Hall, the Fowler Center, Jonesboro, Arkansas, on January 30, 2004. (Duration: 4:30)
