What a lovely recording by this Texas women's chorus! We hesitate to label this a strictly "barbershop" album, as that would definitely not accurately describe this holiday CD. The disc opens up with two traditional pieces - "Sing We Noel" (arranged by Brian Beck) and "Patapan" - the latter is one of the two tunes performed by the 15-member Rich-Tone Madrigal Singers. The Rich-Tones invited all their very-talented friends to sing with them, too - there are tunes by the Gina Williams Trio ("You're All I Want for Christmas" and toe-tappin' "Christmas Shoppin' Blues" featuring light keyboard and guitar accompaniment), guest appearances by Rumors quartet (hysterical "Pretty Dolly"), The Texas Girls Choir (lush, piano-accompanied "Hush, Little Children, Do," and "Joy to the World"), traditional barbershop ("Santa Claus is Comin' to Town").
