This 2003 sacred music release by Six (formerly the Knudsen Brothers) was a return to their roots for the group, as they first started performing together singing hymns and sacred songs. Opening track "Amazing Grace" begins and ends with a gorgeous vocal bagpipe drone, with a full-bodied gospel performance in the middle, complete with vocal percussion. There isn't one of these guys that can't totally carry any solo line you can throw at 'em, and they definitely shine on contemporary ballads like "The Way" and beautiful "Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me," whose sweet vocal arpeggios make more than a hymn out of this traditional tune.

"Sweet Hour of Prayer" has a pretty traditional church hymn sound, but a nice guitar accompaniment softens the tone just a bit. "Battle Hymn of the Republic" shows off the gorgeous genetic blend these guys have (they're all brothers, after all), ending with an amazing ringing chord that will have barbershoppers everywhere drooling with envy. "Nearer, My God, To Thee" gets an almost contemporary Celtic treatment here, with pipes and guitar accompaniment (and a synth-like effect on the lead vocals reminiscent of Kid Rock). That's what this album is good at - taking traditional favorites and making them new once again, through changes in instrumentation, tone color or tempo. New and original tunes have a place too, as in Lynn Knudsen's guitar-accompanied, country radio-worthy "Love Times Ten," referring to the brothers' mother, who raised ten sons. The final track, Malotte's "The Lord's Prayer" arranged by barbershop great Jim Clancy, is enough to leave you breathless and goosepimpled, not to mention with plenty of reason to buy this album! "I saw Six in Branson and absolutly loved them. They are so talented. Their Dad happened to be at the concert. So much talent in one family. This CD is great. Akk their music was super. Ever have the chance to see them it is a must or you will miss out on a great show!!!"
