This group burst on the U.S. scene when People Magazine profiled their good works several years ago. The group consists of five active and retired law enforcement officers from Washington D.C.. They have devoted much of their spare time to performing for children, using their songs to open the door for talking about how to deal with life in the inner city.The group includes some gifted singers, and their classic doo wop soundis infused with an infectious energy and vitality. In addition to classicsongs such as "Sh-Boom," "Duke of Earl" and "Islandof Love," the Doo Wop Cops perform fun "Run Red Run," andthe Persuasions classic "Buffalo Soldier." (43:57 1995)
