One look at the cute design of the CD itself (it's a replica of an old 45) and you know these guys are into keeping things "authentic." If you're looking for some good, solid doo-wop style singing, this one's for you. The lead in this five-man group does justice all around on street corner classics like ballads "Lorraine," "Gloria" and up-tempo "Sunday Kind of Love." The tuning, often problematic in some doo-wop groups, is pretty good here, on both the slow tunes and faster numbers. "Teardrops Follow Me" gets you moving, even with the melancholy lyrics. The background voices are well-blended, and the bass provides solid ground for them all. A good CD to add to your doo-wop standards collection. (28:46 2002)
