The second CD by this Florida-based doo-wop men's quintet shows off the group's unique sound. The impeccable tuning on the background parts puts the group harmony sound front and center. (True a cappella aficionados may notice overtones reminiscent of Tenores di Bitti from Sardinia!). For many of the songs, the bass isn't singing a rhythmically separate part, but is filling out the chord along with the rest of the background, which really expands the sound. Three of the singers swap leads on tunes ranging from "Looking For An Echo," "In The Still Of The Night" and "Da Doo Ron Ron." There are occasional surprises of accompaniment (opener "Just Over The Brooklyn Bridge" and third track "Remember Then"), but the group's musicianship should not be a surprise! (37:53 2005)
