This classically tinged debut album from Bangor, Maine-based Impromptu features a melange of genres, mixing madrigal selections ("Of a Rose", "Make We Joy Now in this Feast"), chant ("Puer Nobis, "Personent Hodie") and more contemporary, familiar numbers ("Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow", "Sleigh Ride!" and "Mambo Santa"). Most tracks are recorded live, with the exception of "Silent Night", the sole studio track. A great first effort! (38:16)
