The second release from "Champaign/Urbana's premiere lesbian/feminist chorus" opens with the (accompanied) haunting Irish tune "Blood and Gold." The 70+voice chorus delivers with such heart you will be instantly drawn into the amazingly varied disc, with its repertoire of global and traditional Folk, ranging from American ("Shenandoah") to Yiddish "Fisher Lid" and Finnish "On Suuri Sun Rantas Autius." There are a number of other accompanied songs, including "Women of Ireland," "Draum om Nedsnødde Bruer" (Dream of Snow-Covered Bridges) and "There Is No Rose," but the many voices are generally the beautiful focus.
