This CD is a compilation of the best of Anuna recordings, some re-mastered and or re-recorded. Anuna is an Irish ensemble with a constantly changing cast. Somehow, though, musical director Michael McGlynn manages a consistently beautiful sound. The pieces range chronologically from the 6th century to the present. Again, there is a surprising consistency to the sound, whether they are singing the modern "The Blue Bird" or the 12th century "Cormacus Scriptsit". There are instruments used in a number of the tracks. If you are just discovering Anuna this CD is "Essential" (62:55 2005)
