Anuna: Omnis (CD)

This is the third form in which this CD has been recorded. The first was in 1995; then again in 1996 for international release. This release, according to the group's director, Michael McGlynn, is a compilation of the best of the two previously released versions and includes three bonus tracks. Most of the pieces are originals by McGlynn (1,5,6,7,9,11 and 20), and the balance were arranged by him. The number of members of Anuna changes, but their director keeps the qualities characteristic of Anuna: crystalline voices, ethereal sound, as well as a mix of "serious" classical songs with bits of medieval Irish music and even rock sensibilities, consistent. The earliest creator of this unique blend of Irish music, widely admired after the group's performance as the first chorale group associated with Riverdance, Anuna remains its premiere example. (57:12 2003)
