What a wonderful album! Linda Hirschhorn and Vocolot weave wonderful and intricate harmonies on this collection of canons and settings of Hebrew and English texts. Many songs are lightly accompanied, but that never gets in the way of the incredible vocal work. This album has a beautiful, mystical quality that calms the soul. Highlights include the canons "Blessing After the Meal," and "Chanukah/Solstice," the stark but lovely "Ki Hem Chayenu," a duet arranged for voice and oboe, and the lush "I Have a Million Nightingales." This is simply beautiful music.
