2005 Barbershop Harmony Society Quartet Champions!
This young quartet from Vancouver, British Columbia made it to the Top 10 their first time out in 2004, and captured the gold in 2005 in Salt Lake City - and you can see why on this, their debut album. They fuse many styles on their barbershop core. For example, chord-ringing "When the Saints Go Marching In" (arr. Greg Volk) has a bass scat appropripate for a New Orleans jazz tune, and it really swings! So does the title track, another Volk chart, as well as the David Wright penned "The Birth of the Blues." Another highlight is their nailed, ever-ringing "Keep Your Sunny Side Up" with lyrics adapted to the barbershop audience - just great! (41:02 2004)

"Realtime possibly has the best blend of any quartet. Pure, unforced singing displayed at its best. This cd has a great variety of songs that showcase each of the member's vocal talent. It should definitely be in everyone's cd collection."
