This album is a blend of pieces from two concerts performed in Sweet Honey's 30th Anniversary Year, 2003: The Liberty Hill Foundations' Benefit concert in LA on December 7th and EveningSong, a collaboration concert between Sweet Honey, Toshi Reagon (Sweet Honey founder Bernice Johnson Reagon's daughter) and her band Big Lovely, performed in Washington DC (the group's home) on November 5th of that year. Member Carol Maillard says that Sweet Honey In The Rock "...is here because you've made a space for the music of Life, Struggle and Love..." The songs included here thoroughly reflect these elements that have always been the foundation of Sweet Honey's decades of music performance. The album is a companion to the DVD of the same name, a documentary sharing the group's daily lives and live concert performances. (84:49 2005)
