Although this ambitious live album by T Minus 5 sometimes falls prey to the problems inherent in all live recordings - slight tuning issues, overly long show banter, breathlessness and that "rushed" feeling - overall it's a pretty good album. Standouts include "American Woman," using a Lenny Kravitz-inspired distortion pedal sound for the guitar solo. The sweetest leads are given by Karsten Longhurst ("Stand By Me") and Shawn Satterthwaite ("Brown Eyed Girl"), and guest vocalist Alex Boyé adds some soul to "Amen Revival" and "Lean on Me"(we're not sure what relationship Boyé has to the group, as the liner notes don't give that information). Many of the songs included here are also on their debut album "And Counting." This is a pretty good representation of the group's live show, so it would be a great memento for someone who's seen the show, or if you just really enjoy live albums.
