Conductor Nikolai Kachanov emigrated to the US in 1891 and fouded the Russian Chamber Chorus of New York in 1984. This CD is the Chorus's performance of the "My Heart is Ready" cantata written in 1989 by Yuri Yukechev, who took its text from the Psalms of David. Beautifully making the most of the piece's counterpoint and polyphonic vocal scoring, the Chorus's presentation of this 8-section cantata will delight and move listeners. (59:26 1996).
