Tchaikovsky once wrote: "To set off on a Saturday for some ancient little church, to stand in the half-light filled with fumes of incense, to become absorbed in oneself, seeking there answers to eternal questions..." in reference to his love of the Vespers. The Russian Chamber Choir has sung in many great venues, including Carnegie Hall and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, but on this CD, evokes the atmosphere of Tchaikovsy's "ancient, little church" in this wondrous recording.
