It's always fun to discover yet another nation producing exciting a cappella - Suite Montevideo are the first group we've heard from Uruguay, but based on them, we wanna hear more from Uruguay! A jazzy septet, they have a very entertaining sound and obviously broad range of skills. "Creación de los Dioses" is a wordless, haunting melody with lovely dynamics, and they have a four-part "La Cumparsita" (Montevideo 1917, Rio 1961, La Habana 1969 and Utah 1940) which is truly enjoyable. It's mostly a cappella (there's a little guitar and some percussion). (39:05 1997)
