In 1988, Paul Simon co-produced this recording of South Africa's most famous a cappella group. Most of the 13 songs are in Swahili, written by leader Joseph Shabalala, with the lyrics thankfully printed in the liner notes along with a description of the songs in English. They vary in themes from spiritual "Lindelani (Get Ready)," to the problems of apartheid described in "Hamba Dompasi (No More Passbook)," to a tribute to Paul Simon ("Amaphiko Okundiza [Wings To Fly]") which mixes English lyrics with Swahili. The final song is perhaps the most memorable: "Amazing Grace" performed with (and arranged by) Paul Simon. (49:11 1988)
