This mixed sextet has many years of barbershop singing under their collective belts, and they bring that bright vocal production to a very jazzy repertoire. They rely a great deal on commercially available arrangements, so the CD is very useful if you want to get a sense of the possibilities with April Arabian's "Singin' in the Rain," Kirby Shaw's "If," Teena Chinn's "For All We Know" and a number of pieces by Tom Fettke (such as "Ride the Morning Winds"). We'd advise listening to this on a good stereo or headphones, as the tuning you'll hear improves (remarkably) with the aid of good electronics. (33:03 2003)
