The hallmark of the Best of High School A Cappella CD is musical diversity. The CD opens with a contemporary a cappella track that any college group would be proud of - the repeat BOHSA appearance for GFS A Cappella with Dido's "Here With Me." The next track may sound like The Real Group, but in fact it's their arrangement of "Waltz For Debby" as performed by 5-Alone (check out their CD elsewhere on this site!). Then comes one of the "rising stars" in female barbershop, Tone Appetit (another repeat BOHSA appearance). Then comes the first of several classical choruses on the CD - in this case an ensemble from Cherry Hill, New Jersey singing a contemporary piece, "Rytmus." There are indeed many paths to all-vocal excellence, and this compilation is a celebration of excellence among the next generation of singers. (56:06 2005)
