The words and music for this "anthem" (defined by the Virginia Tech. Music Dictionary as a "choral setting of an English religious text usually used in church"), were composed by 16th century musician, composer and theatrical producer Richard Farrant. (Mr. Farrant is famous for founding the Blackfriars Theatre.) Piano accompaniment is included in this octavo for rehearsal purposes.
