Over 45 years ago, the Quotations was formed: "No music or attempts at being original, just four guys, a microphone, a bit of an echo and an engineer." That's how the group describes their start. This compilation of the songs they sang in those early years, represents an archive "snatched from the jaws of extinction," and a labor of love by today's Quotations.

The 27 songs (including two medleys) recorded here are quite different from the original versions in that there is lots of orchestration, overdubbing and use of other techniques foreign to early doo-wop. But, though it is "dressed up" quite a bit, listeners to this collection, with its one original composition and the group's first - and last - hilarious attempt at rap, will know that this group of fellas may have lost their hair, but not their flair.
