The 2003 installation of the BOCA series positively jumps off the CD with the opening track by perennial favorites Penn Off The Beat, on Hoobastank's "Crawling In The Dark" - wow! These 18 tracks were drawn from 150 CDs, more than 2,000 songs, heavy competition indeed. The Dartmouth Aires made it with great solo work on Loverboy's "Workin' for the Weekend," while the ethereal "Best I Ever Had" (Vertical Horizon) earned a spot for Stanford Mixed Company. The production of college CDs keeps getting better - as on the crisp vocal percussion and tasty vocal effects on "Rosanna" by York U. Wibijazz'n', or the low bass octaver used on "6 Underground" (Sneaker Pimps) by the Harvard Callbacks. This CD truly shows the state-of-the-art in college a cappella recordings - which is simply amazing! (72:13 2003)
