This group bills themselves as "Utah's only 100% a cappella southern gospel quartet" (that they are aware of). We don't know about that claim, but we can attest to the fact that they know gospel. And they do it well! The quartet has three men and one woman, and brings that "old-timey" sound to light through their simple but stylistically-effective arrangements. If you're a fan of the bluegrass rebirth spurned by the movie "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" then you'll love this album.

The album's song list reads like a table of contents from an old shape-note hymnal, but their sound is fresh, alive and heartfelt. "Down in the River to Pray" is very well done; "Traveling Shoes" is a gospel favorite that is performed here with such energy and exuberance, it makes you want to put on YOUR "travelin' shoes" and join the gospel train to wherever they're goin'! If you don't believe that the gospel spirit is alive and well in Utah, then listen to this - you WILL believe...

"I was a bit skeptical when my friend put a gospel CD in the stereo on our latest drive. More then a bit skeptical. But the energy and vibrance that hit me from the first chord left me speechless. "Gospel Train" is truly an emotional ride, the high points being "John," "Fishers of Men," and of course, "Gospel Train." I was left in such a frenzy, I found myself shouting affirmations along with them. Then in that smooth, soulful style, they brought me back down to earth with "Amazing Grace" and "Away in a Manger," leaving my soul full and content. Not having the occasion to listen to gospel before, and never really enjoying it, I can truly say that I've been converted by Blue Cheese. Can I get an "Amen"!!?"

Fantastic

"Having grown up with a father who loved listening to 'Bluegrass Saturday Morning' on the radio, I was never a big fan. These guys, however, make me want to change the station and listen to nothing but the bluegrass/gospel combo. "
