This Florida quartet returns for a second time to the holiday music genre, and boy, do they do it well! Consummate arrangers Marshall Webb and Doug Teel show why they're so well-renowned in smooth, jazzy tidbits like Webb's opening "Snowfall Medley," (mixing bits of "Let it Snow" with jazz standard "Snowfall") and Teel's funky, syncopated take on "Carol of the Bells." Original "Unto Us" reflects the gospel character of the group with a contemporary sound. An unexpected gem is found in Barry Manilow's treatment of Johnny Mercer's "When the Meadow Was Bloomin'." Traditional holiday fare rounds out the album with a fun "Here Comes Santa Claus," a latin-tinged, VP-filled "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen," sweetness harmon-ified in "Away in a Manger" and of course "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" to make it all a good night.
