From the cover: Cantate Domino is certainly one of Hassler's most popular motets to this day. It is based on Psalm 96: 1-3 ("O Sing unto the Lord, a new song; sing unto the Lord all the Earth..."
In this arrangement for 3-part mixed voices, the original key of C major has been transposed to Bb major. In this way, the limited range of Part III can be accommodated.
