From the liner notes: N.Y.C.D. (New York City Doo-Wop) was formed in Sarasota, FL in 1994. The original members were Al Brum, Phil Orapallo, Dan Cositore and Don Gucciardo. One day Phil read a letter to the editor in a local newspaper. The article described the author as longing to sing Acappella like he did when he lived in NYC. That article and a subsequent meeting in a local music store brought Al, Dan and Phil together. After performing as a trio for a while, they auditioned many singers, trying to round out their sound. Finally, they found Don who joined the group to form the original four members. Although all four members are from NYC, they never met one another until that chance meeting. Their newest member, Jonah Brum, has further added to the group's versatility.
