To celebrate Arvo Part's 70th birthday, this recording was released by Paul Hillier, Part's longtime collaborator and biographer. Included are some of Part's best known compositions, such as "Berliner Messe" and "I Am The True Vine". Also included is a newly record piece, "Dopa la vittoria". The liner notes are quite extensive and help the listener understand Part's evolution as a composer. There is detailed information on each piece in English, French and German. The three vocal ensembles (Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, Theatre of Voices and Pro Arte Singers) employed are excellent. Quite an interesting, enjoyable and educating package. (2005 70:16)
