Many barbershop quartets who record pop are still clearly barbershoppers - it's evident in their arrangements, their singing, you name it. Not so with the Dallas Knights. Their "People Get Ready" sounds like something from an early m-pact CD, and they make their influences clear with a cover of Da Vinci's Notebook's "Liposuction," the Manhattan Transfer arrangement of "Java Jive" and the Blenders' arrangement of "60 Minute Man." "I Cross My Heart" is luscious, and "When She Loved Me" (from Toy Story II) is wonderful. A number of songs ("Sailing," "Longer," "Nowhere Man," "Java Jive") are accompanied, but still lovely.
