Male contemporary vocal band Four Shadow give a solid performance on this, their fourth album (hence the name?). Five out of 13 tracks are originals, spread out between group members Drew Tullar, David Anderson, Kevin Steinman and Stacy Carolan. "Better Than This" is an ode to a loving partner; "Blankets and Pie" is a humorous tribute to Scottish lore, tin whistles and pie, complete with vocal drone and a pretty spot-on accent. "Seven Bridges Road" has a great 'a cappella' opening, but evolves into a country hoe-down along the way. "It's Alright" is nice and mellow but right in the groove. Buffalo Springfield's "For What It's Worth" is given a facelift into something funky and smooth. The production on the album is top-notch, given 'the Darren Rust touch' at Skyland Studios in Four Shadow's home state of Minnesota. If you're looking for ultra-clean male vocal sound, solid harmonies, and a great song selection, this one's for you! (39:06 2005)
