Well, they did what the title of the CD said, people - they "bumped it up," alright! Bumped up the funk, bumped up the volume, bumped up the originality of their..um...originals. These guys are just all-around fun-kay! Vocal rhythm guitars locking with tight vocal percussion grooves? It's all here.

Their covers are great - like Doobies "Long Train Running" and an awesome verison of the Otis Redding classic "Try a Little Tenderness" made totally their own - and who could resist "Disco Inferno"? Ever?? Not listeners to this album, that's for sure! Their originals are sweet too - opening track "Whatcha Wanna Do," "Way Past Down," "Superfriend," "Two Ways Out," "Mr. Funky" - it's not hard to figure out where they cut their musical teeth - at the musical funk all-you-can-sing buffet, that's where! And all this is rounded out by "I Just Want to Celebrate"!?! Come ON, boys, we're dyin' with the funk here! But it's a sweet surrender, believe me. Take a listen and pick this one up. And as if you needed ANOTHER reason to buy this CD, it's produced and engineered by Bill Hare, too. California, ya know how ta party! (52:06 2006)
