This might just be the CD that breaks Toxic Audio into the mainstream big time. It's their first on a record label (DRG Records), and follows their huge success Off-Broadway. If you're already a fan, you've got to hear their six brand new tracks (the other seven are from three different previous releases). Original "Caffeine" is a hilarious original about the new "drug of choice." Their longstanding live novelty rendition of "(Put The Lime In The) Coconut" is finally on CD, and is immediately followed by a tasty jazz rendition of "Splanky" (they acknowledge Real Group in the liner notes, although the arrangement is overall quite different from RG's version). Then they do an high-energy rendition of college a cappella's favorite recent hit, "Bring Me To Life." The jazzy take on "If I Only Had A Brain" is cool, but our favorite new track closes the album: "You Can't Stop The Beat" from Hairspray, a fire hose of vocal energy that'll get you out of your seat, dancing and cheering.
