The fresh, clean sound of this Australian quartet is pure vocal enjoyment. Their jazz-shaded pop arrangements embrace a wide range of covered songs, from issue oriented "Shed a Little Light/The Gulf War Song" to love standards ("My Funny Valentine") to quiet spirituals ( "Sweet, Sweet Spirit" and "Amazing Grace.". Mainly a cappella (three of 13 songs are lightly accompanied), the talented musicians achieve a sophistication through understatement and this enjoyable recording is an uplifting reminder of the simple pleasure of vocal harmony.
